“Education is a matter of the heart.” – St. John Bosco
The month of August came alive with a meaningful and vibrant display thoughtfully created by the teachers and parents of Standards III and IV. The backdrop beautifully commemorated India’s Independence Day and the birthday of St. John Bosco, while inspiring students to embrace the values and ideals he so passionately upheld.
The celebration of the birthday of Saint Don Bosco, the founding father of the Salesian family, holds special significance in the lives of our young learners. Known as a true friend of the young, Don Bosco believed deeply in children and their potential. He encouraged them to dream, guided them with love and patience, and inspired them to work towards achieving their dreams.
Messages such as “Be Responsible, Be Compassionate, Be Don Bosco” and “Be Like Don Bosco, the Champion of the Young” formed the heart of the display. Colourful visuals and inspiring words encouraged students to be cheerful, honest, punctual, grateful, prayerful and helpful towards others—values that reflect the spirit of Don Bosco.
Sharing her thoughts, Ms. Jessiya, Class Teacher of IV D, said, “Children should learn and practise good values in their everyday lives, following Don Bosco’s example of kindness and being helpful towards others.”
The display also left a meaningful impression on the students. Master Kiyaan Palande of III C shared, “The words on the backdrop inspired me to be calmer, kinder and more compassionate towards others.”
The collaborative effort of the teachers and parents beautifully transformed the space into a vibrant centre of reflection, learning and inspiration. More importantly, the display served as a gentle reminder to every child that walking in Don Bosco’s footsteps means living with a loving heart, caring for others and becoming a responsible and compassionate individual.
In this way, the spirit of Don Bosco continues to live on—not merely through words and celebrations, but through the everyday actions and choices of the young boys he continues to inspire.
