Together for a Better Tomorrow: Cultural Day – Std. III

Don Bosco Primary School celebrated its much-awaited Cultural Day for Std. III on Saturday, 29 August 2026, at Fr. Joseph Casti Hall. One of the most eagerly anticipated events in the Primary Section, Cultural Day gives students an opportunity to showcase their talents, creativity and confidence beyond the classroom. This year’s celebration centered around the inspiring theme, “Together for a Better Tomorrow.”

The programme was honoured by the presence of the members of the Management: our Rector, Fr. Godfrey D’Souza; Principal, Fr. Flovi D’Souza; Administrator, Fr. Orville Coutinho; Head Teacher, Mrs. Griselda Fernandes; KG Co-ordinator, Mrs. Rochelle D’Souza; teachers and parents. Their presence and encouragement added warmth and joy to the occasion.

The celebration began on a melodious note with a Welcome Song presented by Std. III C. This was followed by a soulful Prayer Song by Std. III A, seeking God’s blessings for the programme. The students of Std. III B then delighted the audience with an energetic Action Song. Keeping the spirit of the theme alive, Std. III D presented a meaningful skit that highlighted the importance of unity, cooperation and helping one another to achieve a common goal.

Addressing the gathering, Fr. Rector spoke about the importance of teaching children to work together. He shared the familiar message, “Unity is Strength,” and narrated a thoughtful story about a teacher who gave her students seeds to plant. Although only one boy planted his seed, he sought the help of his classmates to nurture and care for it. The story beautifully illustrated the values of teamwork, cooperation, shared responsibility and mutual support.

The audience was then treated to a vibrant dance performance by Std. III C. The colourful presentation filled the hall with energy and enthusiasm, adding to the festive spirit of the celebration.

Fr. Principal later addressed the gathering and emphasised the importance of extracurricular activities in the holistic development of children. He explained that participation in such activities helps students build confidence, creativity, discipline, teamwork and other essential life skills.

A special behind-the-scenes video presentation followed as a heartfelt expression of gratitude. It captured the dedication, preparation and teamwork that contributed to the success of Cultural Day. The presentation also acknowledged the valuable support of the Management, Rector, Principal, teachers, parents and students.

The programme concluded on a joyful note with a heartfelt Thank You Song presented by the students of Std. III B.

Sharing his appreciation, Sir Frazer Vaz, the Music Teacher, said, “The hard work really paid off. The boys were absolutely fantastic and gave a great performance. Kudos to them and the teachers!” Mstr. Asher Rebeiro also shared his experience, saying, “We all gave our best and had a lot of fun.”

The Cultural Day celebration was a memorable experience for everyone present. Through their performances, the students displayed enthusiasm, creativity, confidence and teamwork. Their efforts beautifully reflected the message of the theme, “Together for a Better Tomorrow,” and demonstrated how unity and cooperation can turn an event into a truly meaningful celebration.
