“Success in learning comes not from speed but from persistence – and the right support.”
A remedial course was conducted online from 2nd to 31st May, 2025, with the aim of equipping teachers with the necessary knowledge and strategies to support students requiring additional academic assistance in the primary classrooms. The course was attended by Ms. Jeneta Ratinam and Ms. Meril Menezes, teachers from the Primary Section who actively engaged in all aspects of the program. The sessions covered a wide range of subjects and were facilitated by experienced faculty members. The course aimed to enhance understanding in various domains related to child development, learning styles, perception, language, and more.
Each session was followed by assignments, with clearly defined submission deadlines, to reinforce learning and encourage practical application of the topics discussed. Informal, interactive revision sessions were conducted to help participants consolidate their understanding. These sessions offered a platform for clearing doubts and engaging in deeper discussions.
The remedial education course began with Ms. Mimansa Popat introducing a session on preparing a checklist, accompanied by an assignment to reinforce the topic. Dr. Payal Ubale conducted detailed sessions on auditory and visual perception, followed by relevant assignments. Ms. Linda Dhakul led the session on emotional and child development, while Ms. Mansi Chandorkar covered language development. Ms. Alpa Chag facilitated a math case study session and later conducted a joint case study session with Ms. Mimansa Popat, both supported by assignments. Fr. Godfrey D’Sa conducted sessions on counseling evaluation, with assignments to assess understanding. Ms. Ekta Baxi led the session on multiple intelligences and learning styles. To further gauge participant progress, Ms. Mimansa Popat conducted an on-the-spot evaluation. The session on Study Skills concluded with a segment on Brain Gym, introducing physical movements that support cognitive functioning and classroom readiness.
This remedial course provided an enriching professional development experience, equipping educators with both theoretical knowledge and practical tools essential for working with the learners. Through active participation, timely assignment submissions, and reflective engagement, the attendees demonstrated commendable dedication to continuous learning and teaching excellence.
The course culminated with a convocation ceremony held on 2nd August, 2025. It was a celebratory event that included fun-filled games and was graced by special guests. Certificates of participation and completion were awarded to all attendees, recognizing their efforts and learning throughout the course.
