Std. III Cultural Day Celebration
The World is a Rainbow – Dream, Hope, Achieve
Cultural Days are among the most eagerly awaited events in the calendar year of Don Bosco High School, Matunga’s Primary Section. This year, the students of Std. III celebrated their Cultural Day on 13th September, 2025, in Fr. Joseph Casti Hall of the Primary building. The theme that guided the day’s performances was “The World is a Rainbow – Dream, Hope, Achieve.” Thanks to the joint efforts of the teachers and parents, the venue was beautifully decorated in harmony with the theme, exuding a warm and positive vibe.
The celebration began with a cheerful welcome song presented by the students of Std. III C, who joyfully greeted the guests – the school management and parents – filling the hall with excitement and setting the tone for a memorable occasion.
This was followed by a graceful Prayer Dance by the students of Std. III B, who acknowledged God’s blessings and expressed gratitude through a soulful performance that lifted hearts and connected everyone to the Divine.
A musical performance, “The World is a Rainbow,” was presented by the students of Std. III A & III D through an engaging blend of dance and drama, conveyed a powerful message: in every storm, hope is the guiding light. With the symbolism of dropping the Anchor of Hope, they invited everyone to embark on a celebration of dreams, determination and resilience.
In a well-prepared Vote of Thanks, Master Caleb Dias, Vice-Captain of the Primary Section, expressed a heartfelt gratitude to the school management, Head Teacher and teachers for attending to the finer details and for their tireless efforts in making the day a grand success. Heartfelt gratitude was expressed for the Head Teacher who patiently watched the rehearsals and gave her valuable suggestions. He also acknowledged the parents who voluntarily collaborated with the teachers, ensuring the event became both meaningful and memorable.
The Principal, Rev. Fr. Flovi D’Souza, in his address spoke about the Salesian system of education in which learning extends for every student beyond the classroom. He congratulated the teachers for the heartwarming performances and the smooth flow of the programme. The Head Teacher of the Primary Section, Mrs. Griselda Fernandes, acknowledged the efforts made by the teachers, students and their parents in making the programme a grand success. Their words of encouragement added to the spirit of the day.
To bring the event to a close, the students of Std. III C once again took the stage, this time with a special Thank-You Song, sincerely appreciating all those who contributed to making the day unforgettable.
Reflecting on the celebration, the teachers of Std. III – Mrs. Pearl Lobo, Mrs. Ranjana Bhandare, Ms. Meril Menezes, and Mrs. Shahnaaz Abbas – agreed that the Cultural Day was more than just an event. It was a stepping stone towards instilling 21st-century skills in their students, such as collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking.
The students when asked to provide their feedback said that they were already looking forward to another Cultural Day soon.
The celebration concluded with students and parents leaving the hall with hearts full of joy, gratitude, and cherished memories of a day that truly lived up to its theme – Dream, Hope and Achieve.
