Sr. KG Sports Day 2025–26- Ms. Chetna Kosambi

Ms. Chetna Kosambi “Every child has the power to rise beyond challenges, try with courage, and fly with confidence.” The Sr. KG Sports Day 2025–26 at Don Bosco High School, Matunga, held on 13th December 2025, was a vibrant celebration of energy, enthusiasm, and youthful spirit. Based on the theme “Rise • Try • Fly,” the event highlighted the importance of sports in fostering confidence, resilience, discipline, teamwork, and joyful participation among young learners. The programme was graced by Rector Rev. Fr. Godfrey D’Souza, Principal Fr. Flovi D’Souza, Administrator Fr. Orville Coutinho, Primary Head Teacher Ms. Griselda Fernandes, and KG Supervisor Ms. Rochelle D’Souza. The morning began with the dignified entry of the school flag, accompanied by a lively mini band performance, followed by the meaningful Torch Bearer Ceremony, symbolizing purity, dedication, and true sportsmanship. This was followed by a colourful drill display by the Sr. KG boys, performed using hula hoops. Each division proudly displayed its assigned colour—Sr. KG A in red, Sr. KG B in blue, and Sr. KG C in green—creating a visually striking and well-coordinated performance that reflected unity and discipline. Rev. Fr. Godfrey D’Souza then addressed the parents, emphasizing the role of sports in holistic education and reminding them of the values of Reason, Religion, and Loving Kindness championed by St. Don Bosco. He declared the Sports Meet open, setting the tone for the exciting events that followed. An inspiring highlight of the day was the appearance of mascots portraying national sports icons such as Neeraj Chopra, Jemimah Rodrigues, Milkha Singh, Vijender Singh, Mary Kom, and P. T. Usha, motivating the children to imbibe qualities of perseverance, focus, teamwork, discipline, and excellence. The races—including Get Dressed for School, Ball and Cone Hurdle Race, Plate and Hoop Dash, Scale Relay Challenge, and Hurdle Race—were conducted in high spirits, with children participating confidently and cheerfully. The Parents’ Race added fun and laughter, strengthening the bond between home and school. The event concluded with the winners receiving certificates of achievement from the Reverend Fathers present, celebrating effort, participation, and sportsmanship. The programme ended with Rev. Father Principal expressing heartfelt gratitude to the teachers for their dedicated efforts, the school sirs, E7 coaches, the senior boys who volunteered, and the peons and support staff who worked tirelessly to keep the grounds prepared and the event running smoothly. The Sr. KG Sports Day 2025–26 stood as a joyful reminder that when children are encouraged to rise, given the courage to try, and inspired to fly, they blossom into confident and happy learners.
