Sr. KG Field Trip to Parel Workshop – Exploring the Making of Ganapati Idols

Our Sr. KG children visited a traditional workshop in Parel and explored the fascinating process of making Ganapati idols using clay and dry hay. With curiosity and excitement, the children observed the skilled artists carefully shaping, moulding and decorating idols of different sizes. They were amazed to see how simple materials were transformed into beautiful and divine forms of Lord Ganesha through creativity, patience, skill and hard work.

The children also had the special opportunity to see a beautifully dressed Ganapati idol, completely ready for departure to Gujarat. This gave them a glimpse into the festive preparations that bring the spirit of Ganeshotsav to homes and communities beyond Mumbai.

The visit was not only an enriching learning experience but also a moment of reverence. The children offered their prayers with devotion and sought the blessings of Lord Ganesha. Seeing the big and small idols, they experienced the joy and sacredness associated with the festival and understood that each idol is created with great care and dedication.

The visit helped our little learners appreciate the value of respect and gratitude—respect for our traditions, gratitude towards the artisans who preserve this beautiful cultural art, and reverence for Lord Ganesha.
