Singing Competition- Std. 3 and 4

Mr. Frazer Vaz

Don Bosco once said “A school without music is like a body without a soul.”

Don Bosco Primary School, Matunga hosted an exciting Singing Competition on July 14, 2026, showcasing the vocal talents of students from grades 3 and 4. The event was held in Fr. Joseph Casti Hall in the primary building and was filled with enthusiastic fellow students who came to support the participants. The competition aimed to encourage musical creativity and provide a platform for young singers to demonstrate their skills.

This time, the singing competition was open to participants in all languages, with performances accompanied by minus tracks. The eliminations were held on 1st July 2026. After the eliminations, ten participants from each standard were selected. The participants performed a diverse selection of songs. Each performance was met with applause and cheers, highlighting the supportive and encouraging atmosphere of the event. The judges for the competition were Ms. Sukanya Iyer, Ms. Gabriela D’Souza, and Mr. Neal D’Souza. They provided constructive feedback, helping the participants to hone their craft further.

The event concluded with our judges performing for us, leaving everyone with a sense of accomplishment and a shared love for music. The singing competition not only celebrated the students' musical talents but also fostered a sense of community and camaraderie among the school family but the competition wouldn’t have happened without the continuous support and courage of our Head Teacher, teachers and the hard work of our children. It was a melodious morning, and everybody had a wonderful time. Master Asher Rebeiro, a student of 3 C said, “I was very excited about the singing competition, and very happy about the performance. “At the end of the competition, our Principal announced the winners from each grade.
