School Club Animators’ Meet

 School Club Animators’ Meet

Organizers: Fr. Flovi D’Souza, Fr. Leon Cruz, and Fr. Chris Ferreira

The School Club Animators’ Meet, organized on 26th July 2025 at Don Bosco Youth Services, Mumbai, brought together enthusiastic educators from various Salesian institutions with the goal of reinforcing the importance of clubs in school life.

The day commenced with registration and breakfast, followed by a prayer and welcome address by Fr. Flovi D’Souza. His session on “Clubs in Salesian Schools” was rich with insights into the purpose and value of student clubs. He highlighted how clubs contribute to skill development, emotional growth, academic enhancement, and community engagement. The presentation of the inspirational video “Be Mr. Jenson” added emotional depth to the session, reminding all educators of their transformative role.

The second session, conducted by Fr. Leon Cruz, began with a fun icebreaker and group introductions. His reflective question, “What does the Salesian Youth Movement mean to you?” led to a heartfelt discussion on identity and purpose within the larger Salesian educational network. Educators then formed groups based on club types (Eco Club, Media Club, Sports Club, etc.) to exchange best practices and share ideas.

After lunch participants reassembled to reflect on challenges and solutions related to managing school clubs. These discussions led to valuable suggestions to improve club functioning and student participation.

The final session was led by Fr. Chris Ferreira, who conducted a creative group activity titled “The Emoji Code Game”, bringing a burst of energy and creativity to the closing moments of the day. An open forum followed, where teachers shared takeaways and reflections from the day.

The meet concluded with evening snacks and tea.
