Report on Scouts and Guides Training

Introduction and Opening Session

A Scout Guide Revision Class (Beginners Course) and a discussion meeting were organized by the Central Mumbai Bharat Scouts and Guides District Organization on Wednesday, 24th September 2025. The session was conducted from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Scout Guide Pavilion, Veer Savarkar Marg, Shivaji Park, Dadar.

The training aimed to provide teachers and Scout Masters with a better understanding of the history, structure and activities of the Scout and Guide movement. The training was attended by Sir Manoj, Sir Rajesh, Sir Nehal, Sir Shailendra and Teacher Johncy.

The day began with a prayer, which set a disciplined and enthusiastic atmosphere. Participants were warmly welcomed, and the guiding experts for the session were introduced:

Sessions and Discussions

1. History and Course Stages

Participants were introduced to the history of the Scout and Guide Movement and the different stages of the Scout Guide course. Information was provided about the three-year course, third-level certificate, State Award, and President’s Award, along with guidance on preparing for the State Award Test Camps.

 

 

2. Training Guidelines

Mr. Santosh  and Mr. Sominath explained the Scout Guide timetable, the Cub–Bulbul Tasika, and various trainings for unit leaders. Detailed insights were given on the Cub–Bulbul course stages, including the Fourth Phase/Diamond Wing/Golden Arrow training curriculum.

3. Registration Process

Smt. Megha Surve explained the process for new squad registration and re-registration of old squads. Both offline unit registration and OYMS online registration were discussed.

4. Annual Planning and Projects

Smt. Mansi, Smt. Aruna, and Mrs. Reshma guided participants on annual work planning, net income and flag fund management, and community development programs. They also spoke about service projects, special days and the importance of engaging Cubs in prayer songs, action songs and games to build leadership skills.

5. Uniforms and Examinations

Participants were given information about state and national-level examinations, National Jamboree participation and uniform guidelines as per the APRO book.

6. Fun and Engagement Activities

Teachers were trained to teach Hindi action songs in a fun and interactive way. Demonstrations of different claps such as the Scouts Clap and the Jhakas Clap added energy to the session. The suggestion of maintaining a Good Deed Diary for Cubs was also encouraged.

Closing Session

The training concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Vivek, followed by the distribution of certificates of participation and discharge certificates by Mr. Rajaram, District Headquarters Commissioner (Scout). The program ended with the singing of the National Anthem.

Overall, the training was highly informative and enriching. It deepened the participants’ understanding of the Scout and Guide movement while emphasizing leadership, discipline, teamwork and community service.
