On 1st May 2026, our school proudly celebrated Maharashtra Day and Labour Day with great enthusiasm and cultural spirit. The entire program was conducted in Marathi, honouring the richness of the state's regional language. The celebration began with the Marathi Rajbhasha Geet, which set a patriotic tone for the event. This was followed by a graceful prayer dance presented by the primary teachers, based on the Warkari tradition and devotion to Lord Vithal. Students from the Marathi Literature Club showcased their talents through powerful performances like Powada and meaningful speeches, reflecting the bravery and cultural heritage of Maharashtra. A group of secondary teachers further enriched the program with melodious Marathi songs, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere.
The secondary students of the Marathi Literature Club actively participated in a thought-provoking skit and dance presentation on the topic “If Shivaji Raje Arrived in This Century,” which proved to be both inspiring and insightful. The students impressed the audience with their excellent expression and confidence. One of the highlights of the program was the Bharud, a traditional folk art presented by a secondary teacher through mono-acting, which effectively conveyed the importance of reading and highlighted the disadvantages of excessive mobile usage. The program concluded with a beautifully coordinated lamp dance performed by the secondary teachers.
At the end of the program, the Rector Rev .Fr Godfrey D’Souza delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the importance of Maharashtra Day, the value of labour, and the rich cultural heritage of Maharashtra. He emphasized the dignity of hard work and its role in building a strong society. This was followed by the concluding address by the Principal, Fr. Flovi D’Souza, who appreciated the hard work of the students and the excellent efforts of the teachers. He congratulated everyone for their outstanding performances and expressed his gratitude to all for making the program a grand success. The event concluded at 9:00 a.m.
Overall, the celebration was well-organized and maintained a high standard. It was truly a heartfelt tribute to Maharashtra and the spirit of labour.
