Report On Krishna Janmashtami

“The birth of Krishna reminds us that goodness will always triumph over evil.”
Gokulashtami, or Krishna Janmashtami, was celebrated with devotion and joy at Don Bosco Primary School, Matunga, on 16th August 2025. Students from Std. I to Std. IV took part in a variety of activities that reflected the life and teachings of Lord Krishna. The celebration not only filled the school with festivity but also helped the children connect with values of love, kindness, and the victory of good over evil.
The day began with Std. I students watching an animated video on Krishna’s childhood. With its bright colours and engaging storytelling, the video captured their attention and gave them a simple yet meaningful understanding of Lord Krishna’s early life.
Std. II students added charm to the occasion by dressing up as little Krishnas. They also enjoyed a creative activity where, with the help of their teachers, they used colourful thumb impressions on A4 sheets to make pyramids reaching out to the dahi handi. This activity brought alive Krishna’s playful spirit in a fun way.
Std. III children showcased their creativity by decorating earthen pots. Using bindis, stickers, ribbons, and other materials, they turned plain pots into colourful pieces of art, symbolising Krishna’s love for butter and milk.
Std. IV students combined creativity with thoughtful reflection. Divisions B and C made colourful flutes out of paper, representing Krishna’s bansuri which spread peace and harmony. Divisions A and D shared slogans related to the festival, carrying messages of love, unity, and righteous living.
The celebrations across all classes created a lively and devotional atmosphere. The students’ enthusiasm and participation reflected their excitement, while the activities helped them understand the deeper values of Janmashtami—truth, goodness and devotion.
The day ended with happy smiles, valuable learning, and fond festive memories for the children.
