At Don Bosco Primary School, Happy Saturdays are a special initiative designed to create joyful, engaging, and experiential learning opportunities beyond the regular curriculum. These Saturdays are filled with fun-filled activities, creative explorations, and interactive sessions that help students discover their talents, build confidence, and develop essential life skills. From nature walks and storytelling to experiments and competitions, each Happy Saturday brings a new theme that sparks curiosity and encourages holistic development. It’s a day the children look forward to-a perfect blend of learning and enjoyment!
Happy Saturday Activities – 12th July
On 12th July, engaging Happy Saturday activities were organized for the students of Std I-IV.
Students of Std I and II enjoyed a refreshing Nature Walk within the school campus. They explored the greenery around them, observed various plants, insects, and birds, and learnt to appreciate the beauty of nature.
Meanwhile, students of Std III and IV participated in a Singing Competition that showcased their musical talents and confidence. The event was filled with melodious performances, and the enthusiastic participation made it a memorable experience.
Happy Saturday Activities held on19th July
Our school celebrated Happy Saturday with great enthusiasm through various engaging and educational activities across different grades:
Std I – Story Telling Session:
The students of Std I enjoyed a fun-filled story-telling session. They listened to interesting moral stories, which helped to build their imagination, vocabulary, confidence and listening skills.
Std II – Play, Do and Learn (Water Activities):
Std II students actively participated in “Play, Do and Learn” activities based on the theme Water from their textbook. The hands-on activities deepened their understanding of the uses and importance of water in daily life.

Std III – Cleanliness Drive in School:
As part of the cleanliness awareness campaign, Std III students took part in a Cleanliness Drive. They helped clean classrooms, school corridors, and the playground, promoting the value of hygiene and responsibility.
Std IV- Science Lab Visit – Exploring the World of Water
As part of the EVS 1 curriculum, the students of Standard IV visited the Science Laboratory to deepen their understanding of the lesson on Water. During the session, they observed water samples under the microscope and discovered the presence of bacteria and microorganisms in unclean water.
The hands-on experience helped students connect theoretical knowledge with real-life observation, making learning both engaging and meaningful. It also emphasized the importance of clean and safe drinking water for good health.
Happy Saturday – 26th July- Grandparents’ Day
Don Bosco High School, Matunga, celebrated Grandparents’ Day with great joy and enthusiasm on 26th July as part of the Happy Saturday activities for Std I- IV. The event was a heartwarming tribute to the love, wisdom, and support that grandparents bring into the lives of their grandchildren.
The students welcomed their grandparents with warm smiles, engaging performances – skits, songs and fun games created a cheerful atmosphere. The children expressed their love while dancing with the grandparents creating a beautiful bond across generations.
The celebration not only honoured the elders but also instilled in the students the value of respect and gratitude. It was a truly memorable day filled with laughter, love, and lasting memories.
