Pre-Primary and Nursery: Celebration of the Feast of Don Bosco – 31st January 2026

- Ms. Quency Lobo

The children of Savio Kindergarten (Pre-Primary and Nursery) joyfully celebrated the Feast of Don Bosco on 29th and 30th January 2026.

To help the little ones understand who Don Bosco was, the children were shown videos and pictures from the life of Don Bosco and were taught songs dedicated to him. They were also taken to the Shrine, where they were told simple and meaningful facts about Don Bosco in a way children could easily understand.

The children learnt that:

Don Bosco was born on 16th August 1815.

He was born in a small village called Becchi in Italy.

He loved children and cared for them like a father.

He taught children to be kind, loving, and happy.

He enjoyed playing games with children.

He taught children to pray and trust in God.

Don Bosco passed away on 31st January 1888.

We remember Don Bosco for his great love for children.

As part of the class activities:

Nursery children made a heart cut-out and wrote or dictated a loving message on it. They joyfully went around their section sharing why they loved Don Bosco. One child sweetly said, “I love Don Bosco because he made school,” which brought smiles to everyone’s faces.

Junior KG children coloured and decorated a picture of Don Bosco, learning to recognise him and talk about his kindness and love.

Senior KG children made a beautiful frame around the picture of Don Bosco using stickers and decorations.

The celebration helped the children understand the values of love, kindness, sharing, prayer, and happiness, which Don Bosco taught throughout his life.

✨ Don Bosco loved children, and children loved him too.

May we always remember his message —

“Be good, be kind, and be happy.” ✨
