Parents as Learners – A Meaningful Training Session

Today, our teachers conducted a special training session for parents where the roles were beautifully reversed—parents became the students for the day. The session was designed to help parents understand the teaching methods followed in school and to guide them on how they can support their children’s learning at home.

During the session, teachers explained the approach used in English, Mathematics, and EVS, along with the evaluation process followed in school. Through demonstrations and explanations, parents were given a clear idea of how lessons are taught in the classroom and how similar techniques can be used at home to make learning easier and more engaging for their children.

Parents were also given worksheets to solve, just like their children do in class. Some parents experienced a little difficulty while solving them, which helped them understand the challenges children sometimes face. Teachers patiently demonstrated how they guide students step by step in solving worksheets and shared simple strategies that parents can use while helping their children study at home.

The session also included an interactive question-and-answer round, where parents had the opportunity to clarify their doubts. With the upcoming final examinations, parents expressed happiness and relief as many of their concerns were addressed and their understanding of the learning process became clearer.

The session concluded on a positive note, reinforcing the belief that when teachers and parents work together, a child’s learning journey becomes stronger and more meaningful.
