“Learning to Walk Past Failure”- Class Assembly 9B

The Class Assembly of Std. 9B was held on 20th August 2025 on the theme “Learning to Walk Past Failure.” The programme highlighted the importance of resilience and determination in the face of challenges, inspiring everyone present to see failure not as an end, but as a stepping stone to success.

The assembly began with a warm welcome to the management, teachers, parents, and students, followed by a meditation session conducted by the class teacher, Mrs. Perpetual Nazareth, which helped set a calm and reflective tone for the morning.

Through a series of short presentations, students shared the struggles and journeys of well-known personalities such as Stephen King, Chris Gardner, J.K. Rowling, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Jim Carrey, Michael Jordan, and Serena Williams. Each story emphasized how failure became the foundation for greater achievements. Musical and dance performances like “Unstoppable”“A Million Dreams”, and “Dreamers” added vibrancy and depth to the theme.

The assembly also featured one of the school’s own alumni, Anshuman Killedar (aspiring Chartered Accountant). In an interactive session, he shared his personal journey, the challenges he faced, and the determination that helped him overcome setbacks. His y story offered practical lessons of courage and persistence for the youngsters.

A special moment of the assembly was the heartfelt tribute to the late Rev. Fr. Bernard Fernandes, former Principal, on his birthday on 20th August. Students remembered him as a source of wisdom, kindness, and inspiration, with a remarkable gift for words and a legacy of love that continues to guide the school community. One of his favourite songs ‘Malaika’ was played in his memory.

The programme concluded with the famous words of Winston Churchill: “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”

The Principal, Rev. Fr. Flovi D’Souza, appreciated the assembly, calling it “spectacular, with fine performances, and  impressive to see the entire class on stage.” He further remarked that “the planning and hard work that must have gone into the preparation were clearly evident.”

The Class Assembly of Std. 9B was not only a reminder to accept failure as part of growth but also a celebration of perseverance, hope, and collective inspiration.
