Junior KG Field Trip – Parsi Museum ( Place of Worship)
Junior KG Field Trip – Parsi Museum ( Place of Worship) Ms Betty Poulose
Places of worship hold great importance in every religion. They are special places where people go to pray, thank God, and find peace. Different religions have different places of worship such as temples, churches, mosques, and gurudwaras. Learning about these places helps children understand that while people may follow different religions and traditions, everyone shares common values of love, respect, and kindness.
Field trips play an important role in the learning process of young children. They give students the opportunity to observe and experience things beyond the classroom. Such visits help children connect what they learn in class with real-life situations, making learning more meaningful and memorable.
With this objective in mind, the Junior KG students of Savio Kindergarten were taken on a field trip on 7th March 2026 to the F. D. Alpaiwalla Museum, a museum dedicated to the history and traditions of the Parsi community. The museum beautifully showcases traditional costumes, artifacts, and various items that reflect the rich culture and customs of the Parsis.
Upon reaching the museum, the children were warmly welcomed by the staff. A representative from the museum gave a simple introduction and explained the traditions of the Parsi community and the things they worship. The students were curious and excited as they observed the different costumes, objects, and displays that highlighted the rich heritage of Parsi culture.
During the return journey, the children were also shown different places of worship in the city. They saw a church where Christians pray, a temple where Hindus worship, and a mosque where Muslims offer their prayers. This helped the children understand that people from different religions have different places where they pray and celebrate their festivals.
The field trip was a wonderful learning experience for the children. It helped them develop awareness about different cultures, traditions, and religions while also making learning enjoyable and meaningful. The students returned to school happy, carrying new knowledge and memorable experiences from their visit.
