Jr KG field trip – Mumbai in the rains.
Our little explorers of the Jr KG had an exciting field trip around the city of Mumbai on the 23rd of July 2025, even though the rain decided to join us! Despite the rainy weather, our enthusiastic kindergarteners set out for a memorable and exciting trip with wide smiles on their faces. They were ready to explore and learn, proving that a little rain couldn’t dampen their spirits.
As our journey began, the children enjoyed watching the raindrops slide down the windows of the bus. Their curious eyes noticed how the city looked different in the rain, the trees looked greener, the roads shinier, and people hurried along with colourful umbrellas.
Seeking blessing from our almighty we were all set to begin our trip. Once the bus got moving The teachers used this opportunity to engage the children in conversations about the weather, rainwater, and the importance of staying safe during monsoon and other concepts that they had learnt in class. The teacher asked the boys to look out of the window and name a few things they could see in the colour red and blue, they saw a few red colour BEST buses, cars, traffic signals, umbrellas, raincoats, blue sky and the sea. Concepts such as wet and dry, clean and dirty were emphasised on to inculcate values of keeping their surroundings at home, class and school clean all the time.
As we moved along the streets of Wadala, we soon reached the Atal Setu freeway. Watching the tides and the little fishing boats got them very excited. The long drive along the bridge with cool breeze and the rains made it all the more exhilarating for them. On the way back they also got to see the railway station and a few trains that were passing by after which we straight headed back to school.
Though we couldn’t step out for too long at each stop, the children were curious and observant, asking questions and sharing what they saw. This field trip helped children learn not just about the city and its places, but also about adapting to weather changes, staying positive, and finding joy in simple things. We’re proud of our young learners for being so observant, cheerful, and well-behaved throughout the day.
