JR KG FIELD TRIP – AROUND THE CITY IN THE RAIN.
JR KG FIELD TRIP – AROUND THE CITY IN THE RAIN.
Ms Rytika Pereira
Our little explorers of the Jr KG had an exciting and educational "Around the City in the rain" field trip on the 22nd July 2026, that gave them an opportunity to explore and learn about the world beyond their classroom. Filled with curiosity and enthusiasm, the little ones enjoyed travelling together while observing the many important places and landmarks in our city.
As our journey began, the children enjoyed watching the raindrops slide down the windows of the bus. Their curious eyes noticed how the city looked different in the rain, the trees looked greener, the roads shinier, and people hurried along with colourful umbrellas. Seeking blessing from our almighty we were all set to begin our trip. Once the bus got moving The teachers used this opportunity to engage the children in conversations about the weather, rainwater, and the importance of staying safe during monsoon and other concepts that they had learnt in class. The teacher asked the boys to look out of the window and name a few things they could see in the colour red and blue, they saw a few red colour BEST buses, cars, traffic signals, umbrellas, raincoats and the blue sky. Concepts such as wet and dry, clean and dirty were emphasised on to inculcate values of keeping their surroundings at home, class and school clean all the time. On the way back they also got to see the railway station and a few trains that were passing by after which we
straight headed back to school.
The field trip encouraged the children to observe, ask questions, and connect their classroom learning with real-life experiences. It also helped develop their social skills, communication, and awareness of their surroundings while creating joyful memories with their friends and teachers. Educational outings like these help young learners build a better understanding of the community and the important role each person plays in making the city function smoothly.
The day ended with smiling faces, happy hearts, and many wonderful stories to share. It was truly a memorable learning experience that inspired our little explorers to appreciate the vibrant community around them.
