"Not thankfulness alone, but service, is the true expression of gratitude."— St. Don Bosco

The Annual Thanksgiving Day celebrations at Don Bosco High School, Matunga, unfolded over two inspiring days February 6 and 7, 2026 radiating Salesian joy and profound gratitude as the community paused to thank God for the dedicated individuals who guide its young students with loving kindness and hopeful accompaniment.

On February 6, Day One commenced in the school quadrangle with a stirring Guard of Honour, followed by the Don Bosco School Band performing "Sholom Aleichem" and "Rohi and Pashosho." The pre-primary section enchanted with a prayer dance, after which Fr. Rector spoke. A warm welcome song from Standards 1 and 2 set the tone for the felicitation of the Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Ashley Miranda, Provincial of the Mumbai Province (INB) who received an address and floral tribute before sharing his inspiring words. The Management was similarly honored with addresses and floral tributes, followed by the prize distribution ceremony, the annual school report, and a captivating musical performance.

Day Two on February 7 mirrored the grandeur, opening with another Guard of Honour and the school band's vibrant renditions of "Sholom Aleichem" and "Rohi and Pashosho," alongside a prayer dance by the pre-primary section and Fr. Godfrey's address. The welcome song from Standards 1 and 2 preceded the heartfelt felicitation of Silver Jubilarians and retired staff, each receiving addresses and floral tributes: Mrs. Gracy by Fr. Rector; Mrs. Julie by Fr. Orville; Mr. Barry by Fr. Flovi; Mr. Joseph by Fr. Rector; Mr. Ambrose by Fr. Flovi; Mrs. Anitha by Fr. Orville; Mrs. Pearl by Fr. Ajoy; Mr. Johnlewis by Fr. Ajoy; and Mr. Javed by Fr. Flovi. Their years of selfless commitment, perseverance, and joyful service embodied the Salesian charism. The program continued with the annual school report and concluded with the musical "Robinhood," where Robin Hood and his merry band Allan-a-Dale, Little John, Will Scarlet, Lady Marian, and a friar outwitted the Sheriff and Gisborne at a grand carnival, culminating in King Richard's revelation, Robin's victory, and a joyful wedding celebration.

Pre-primary, primary, and secondary students from each standard added enchantment with beautiful dances throughout. Principal Fr. Flovi Dsouza delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, praising director Mrs. Asmita D'Souza, the team of teachers, and students. Rector Fr. D'Souza connected the play to the year's Strenna, "Anchored in hope, soaring to great heights." These two solemn days filled hearts with gratitude, reaffirming the Don Bosco community's resolve to accompany the young with hope, faith, and love.
