Gifts of Grace: Living with Integrity

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” — Colossians 3:23
For the First Friday Mass on November 7, 2025, all of the Catholic teachers and students at Don Bosco High School in Matunga gathered at the Mary Help of Christians Shrine. The day’s readings focused on God’s all-encompassing plan of salvation, the exhortation to live sensibly and obediently, and the admonition to assiduously prepare for God’s Kingdom. The psalm’s exhortation to worship the Lord in all countries, St. Paul’s teaching that the gospel is for everyone, and the gospel parable’s call for responsible and meaningful living were all emphasized in the introduction.
Fr. Orville Coutinho presided over the Mass, while Fr. Godfrey D’Souza, the Rector, served as a congregant. Fr. Orville quickly discussed the need of living responsibly, using our gifts with integrity, and continuing to be devoted stewards of God’s mission in his homily. The congregation was able to relate the readings for the day to everyday Christian life thanks to his thoughts.
The readers proclaimed the Word with clarity and reverence, and the choir added a deeply prayerful atmosphere through their well-prepared singing.
Fr. Orville offered a special prayer for the Rector, Fr. Godfrey D’Souza, asking for God’s blessings and direction as the school got ready to celebrate his birthday on November 8.

On this First Friday honoring the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the celebration reinforced the school community’s commitment and strengthened their spiritual connection.
