From Ashes to Grace
From Ashes to Grace

'Repentance is not just feeling sorry; it is turning back to God with a sincere heart.'
The Ash Wednesday Mass was solemnly celebrated at the Shrine of Our Lady Help of Christians, marking the beginning of the holy season of Lent. The Eucharistic celebration was prayerfully organized for the staff and students of Don Bosco High School, Matunga.
The Holy Mass was celebrated by Fr. Godfrey, the Rector, and was concelebrated by Fr. Flovi, the Principal, and Fr. Joyston. The liturgy included meaningful readings, hymns, and intercessory prayers, inviting everyone into a spirit of reflection and renewal.
Ashes were imposed on the gathering as a sacred symbol that we are made of dust and to dust we shall return. This powerful gesture reminded all present of the call to repentance, humility, and sincere conversion of heart during the Lenten season.
In his homily, Fr. Godfrey emphasized the importance of drawing closer to God through earnest prayer, faithful fasting, and generous almsgiving. He encouraged the faithful to use these forty days as a time of spiritual discipline and deeper communion with the Lord.
Students and teachers participated reverently in the celebration. The Ash Wednesday Mass offered the entire school community an opportunity to reflect on their spiritual journey and renew their commitment to living a life grounded in faith, love, and service.
