English Elocution Competition – Std. I & II

“The art of communication is the language of leadership.” – James Humes

The English Elocution Competition for Standards I and II was held on 23rd September, 2025 at Don Bosco Primary School, Matunga in Fr. Joseph Casti Hall. The event provided young students with an opportunity to develop confidence and fluency in public speaking. All students took part enthusiastically in the preliminary round, after which eight finalists from each standard were selected to compete in the final round.                                                                                                                                        The participants presented their poems with remarkable diction, expressions, and voice modulation. Their confidence on stage reflected the hard work put in by both students and teachers. It was indeed delightful to see such young children recite with enthusiasm and joy.                                                                                                                         The competition was gracefully compered by Mrs. Christy Jagdish, who ensured the smooth flow of the programme. The judges – Mrs. Sandra D’Souza, Mrs. Sandra Coutinho, and Mrs. Carrol Pereira, were highly impressed with the talent displayed by the little ones. They appreciated the students for their efforts and encouraged them saying that “all the finalists are winners as they have put in so much effort for this competition.”                                                                                                                              The event concluded with the Head Teacher Mrs. Griselda Fernandes announcing the winners. Certificates were awarded to the deserving students, which brought smiles and a sense of accomplishment on their faces. The programme not only helped students showcase their abilities but also fostered a love for the English language.
