Don Bosco High School, Matunga U-17 Team Finish as Runners-Up at the 65th Subroto Mukherjee District Level Football Tournament 2026 – Mumbai City

The U-17 Football Team of Don Bosco High School, Matunga showcased tremendous grit, determination, and teamwork to emerge as Runners-Up in the prestigious 65th Subroto Mukherjee District Level Football Tournament – 2026 (Mumbai City), held at the Police Ground, Naigaon, over three days from 11th to 13th July 2026.

In a thrilling and fiercely contested final against Cathedral & John Connon School, both teams fought relentlessly, with neither side able to find the winning goal during regulation time. The match ended in a draw and was eventually decided by a penalty shootout, where Don Bosco narrowly missed out on the championship. It was a tough and heartbreaking finish, but one that reflected the team's fighting spirit and resilience.

Throughout the tournament, the players displayed exceptional skill, discipline, and sportsmanship, earning the admiration of spectators and proving themselves worthy finalists.

A heartfelt appreciation goes to Coach Leslie, whose tireless dedication, meticulous preparation, and unwavering belief in the team played a pivotal role in this remarkable achievement.

Congratulations to our U-17 players and Coach Leslie on an outstanding campaign. Though the title was decided by the narrowest of margins, the team's courage, character, and never-give-up attitude have made the entire Don Bosco family immensely proud.
