DBIS MUN 2026

Don Bosco High School participated in the Model United Nations Conference organized by Don Bosco International School on 28th and 29th August 2026. Nine students from our school represented different countries across three committees.
The delegates were:
ECOFIN Committee
Kiaan Shetye – China:
“Participating in the Model United Nations (MUN) was a very interesting and memorable experience for me. The event gave me an opportunity to understand how countries discuss international issues and try to find solutions through discussion and cooperation. One of the most important things I learnt was the importance of maintaining decorum and communicating in a diplomatic manner.”
Raphael Ferreira – Germany:
“Being part of the Model UN held this year by DBIS was truly an unforgettable experience. Being part of ECOFIN was another experience in itself. I got a peek into world economics and how global economic and financial policies are handled. From GSLs to SSLs, Open Floors to Round Robins, and the chaotic crises that twisted every few minutes, the experience helped us perceive the bigger picture of world politics.”
Jiyaan Shah – Oman:
“The event was very well organised, and everything from the committee sessions to the overall arrangements was handled smoothly.”
Rohaan Elavia – France:
“It gave a true representation of the functions of the UN and also shed light on many global happenings. It showed me how the UN functions and how every member respectfully debates with each other while putting forth their points.”
DISEC Committee
Alvin Wallace D’Souza – Slovenia:
“DISEC was a great learning experience. The crisis simulation was the most intense part—we had to think fast, adapt, and build alliances quickly.”
Keith Goshi – Georgia:
“It was a great and memorable experience, and the scenario replicated the environment of actual United Nations conferences. The best parts were the crisis and the debates. We made new friends, allies and rivals.”
Rishav Mitra – Sweden:
“The event accurately simulated a real United Nations assembly. The highlights were the intense debates and the surprise crisis scenario, which challenged me to think quickly under pressure.”
Hawmulsawm Khuptong – Hungary:
Participating in the MUN for the first time, he said, “At first, when I stepped into the building, I felt nervous, but later on, I got used to the feeling.” He enjoyed participating in Points of Information, Open Floors and Round Robins, as well as preparing the Draft Resolution with Bulgaria. He particularly remembered Croatia’s “Delegations, delegations, delegations...” as a funny moment.
UNHRC Committee
Saahil Langliya – Indonesia:
“These two days have been some of the most fabulous days of my life.” He added that MUN taught him how professionals at the UN handle crises and that every problem cannot be solved through violent decisions. He was particularly inspired by the Taliban delegate, who defended his position very effectively.
All the students highlighted significant improvements in articulation, public speaking, confidence, critical thinking, research and analysis, negotiation and teamwork. They learnt that diplomacy is not only about speaking confidently but also about listening to others, building alliances, finding common ground, and understanding the value of cooperation and compromise. They also enjoyed debating last-minute crisis topics with very little time to prepare, which challenged them to think quickly and respond effectively.
All the delegates sincerely thank Ms. Perpetual Nazareth, Don Bosco High School and the DBIS MUN team for providing them with this wonderful and enriching opportunity.
