Cultural Day Celebration of Std. IV - “Responsibility in Our Actions, Care in Our Hearts”

The Cultural Day Celebration of Std. IV was held on 8th August 2026 at Fr. Joseph Casti Hall, Primary Section. The event was organised around the inspiring theme, “Responsibility and Care,” which emphasised the importance of being responsible, compassionate, kind, and respectful towards one another, nature, and our surroundings. The celebration provided the students with a meaningful platform to showcase their talents while communicating important values and life lessons.

The programme commenced with a graceful opening presented by the students of Std. IV C. The comperes warmly welcomed the esteemed members of the management, teachers, parents, and students. The dignitaries were then accorded a respectful welcome, followed by an introduction to the theme. The students eloquently conveyed the message that every great journey begins with a single step and that responsible living begins with a simple decision to care.

The atmosphere came alive with a vibrant Welcome Song and Dance presented by Std. IV C. Their colourful costumes, confident performances, and enthusiastic participation filled the hall with energy and set a joyful tone for the programme.

This was followed by a serene and graceful Prayer Dance presented by Std. IV D. Through their expressive movements, the students sought God’s blessings and highlighted the enduring values of faith, gratitude, and hope.

The students of Std. IV A then presented an energetic Action Song on Responsibility. Their performance effectively demonstrated how small, responsible actions and positive habits can bring about meaningful change in our lives and in the world around us.

The highlight of the celebration was the skit, “The Messy Park Mission,” presented by the students of Std. IV B. The skit thoughtfully portrayed the consequences of irresponsible behaviour in a public park. The visitors initially enjoyed themselves without considering the litter they were leaving behind. As the park gradually became polluted, the tree, flower, bird, dog, butterfly, and Earth expressed their distress.

The visitors soon recognised their mistake and understood that true responsibility lies in doing what is right—even when no one is watching. The skit concluded on a hopeful note, with the children cleaning the park and pledging to protect and care for the environment. The engaging presentation successfully combined creativity with a powerful message about environmental responsibility.

The programme continued with an inspiring address by the Administrator, Rev. Fr. Orville Coutinho, who appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers and highlighted the importance of practising responsibility and care in everyday life. His words encouraged the children to understand that responsible citizenship begins with simple acts of kindness, discipline, and concern for others and the environment.

Adding warmth and joy to the celebration, the students of Std. IV A presented a beautiful Dance on Kindness. Through their graceful movements and expressive performance, they conveyed the message that kindness can touch hearts, strengthen relationships, and make the world a better place. The performance beautifully complemented the central theme of the programme by reminding everyone that responsibility is not only about duties but also about caring for others with compassion and understanding.

This was followed by a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by the Principal, Rev. Fr. Flovi D’Souza. He expressed his sincere gratitude to the management, teachers, parents, students, and everyone whose support, guidance, and dedication contributed to the success of the Cultural Day celebration. He also appreciated the students for their confidence, creativity, discipline, and enthusiastic participation.

Master Kyle Rodrigues then extended words of thanks to everyone who had contributed to the celebration and expressed appreciation for the encouragement and support received from the management, teachers, parents, and students. His words brought a warm and personal touch to the conclusion of the programme.

The celebration concluded on a cheerful note with a melodious Thank You Song presented by the students of Std. IV C. The song beautifully expressed gratitude to everyone who had been a part of the memorable occasion and brought the programme to a joyful close.

Master Solvick Nadar of Std. IV B shared his reflections:

“Through our Cultural Day programme, I learnt that responsibility begins with me. It is my duty to keep my surroundings clean and to care for nature. I also learnt that the Earth is not only our home but also the home of countless animals, birds, and other living creatures. Even a small effort by one person can bring about positive change in the environment. I will do my part to care for nature and help protect Mother Earth for the future.”

Miss Meril Menezes remarked: “The Cultural Day was a wonderful and enriching experience for the students. They displayed remarkable enthusiasm, confidence, and teamwork while conveying the values of responsibility, care, and kindness. It was truly a meaningful and memorable celebration.”

The Cultural Day of Std. IV was a memorable celebration of talent, teamwork, creativity, responsibility, and character. More importantly, it reminded everyone that caring for others, showing kindness, and protecting our planet begin with the simple choices we make and the responsible actions we take each day.
