A Science Workshop for the INSPIRE Award was organized by the Agastya Foundation on 10th July 2026 at D. G. Ruparel College, Matunga West. The workshop aimed to promote scientific thinking, creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills among teachers and students.

The programme began with a warm welcome to Ma'am Sheetal from the Department and the resource persons from Agastya Foundation. The resource persons introduced the objectives of the workshop and emphasized the importance of experiential and activity-based learning in science.

One of the major highlights of the workshop was the hands-on science activities. Participants actively engaged in practical activities that demonstrated various scientific concepts in an interesting and effective manner. These activities highlighted the importance of observation, experimentation, exploration, and learning by doing.

A session on Design Thinking was also conducted. Participants were guided through the process of identifying real-life problems, understanding needs, generating innovative ideas, designing possible solutions, and improving them through testing and feedback. This session was particularly useful in understanding how students can be guided to develop innovative projects and ideas for the INSPIRE Award.

Additionally the workshop included a meaningful discussion on encouraging students to observe problems in their surroundings and develop simple, practical, and innovative solutions. Teachers were encouraged to nurture curiosity, creativity, and a scientific attitude among students.

In an orientation on the Agastya Virtual School Programme the participants were introduced to the programme and its role in providing engaging and interactive science-learning opportunities through a virtual platform.

The workshop was highly informative, interactive, and enriching. The workshop motivated participants to encourage students to think creatively and develop innovative scientific ideas for the INSPIRE Award.
