The Bosco Kala Utsav for students of Std. VII and VIII was held on 19th September 2025 at Don Bosco High School, Matunga, from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm. The event was organized with the objective of recognizing young talents, giving students a platform to showcase their creativity, and helping them build confidence while celebrating the joy of togetherness. The audience for the programme comprised the enthusiastic students of Std. VII and VIII, who cheered their peers and enjoyed the cultural extravaganza.

The programme commenced with the English and Hindi vocal competitions, followed by the instrumental performances in Fr. Bernard Hall. Mrs. Lakshmi Krishna efficiently compered this part of the programme. The judges were two accomplished personalities: Mr. Sagar Kotak, a multi-talented playback singer, actor, dancer, and choreographer, and Mr. Lloyd Nunes, a passionate musician, choir trainer, and keyboardist. Both judges not only assessed the participants but also inspired the gathering with their melodious singing and heartfelt words, encouraging the students to dream big and nurture their gifts. Songs such as Footloose, Love Me Like You Do, Yeh Tune Kya Kiya, and Agar Tum Saath Ho struck a chord with the audience, while instrumental pieces on the saxophone, tabla, and guitar kept the hall alive with energy. The round concluded with the announcement of winners. In English vocals, Hassaan Sayed secured the first place, followed by Aashman Sarvadekar and Ronan Vaz. In Hindi vocals, Archit Chandramore bagged the first prize, with Pranay Barve and Nikhil Dhoiphode placing second and third respectively. In the instrumental category, Ikjot Singh won the first place, Aaron Benjamin the second, and Allen Fernandes the third.

The focus then shifted to the elocution events. The English elocution for both standards was conducted in Fr. Bernard Hall, with Ms. Ann Miranda as the compere. The judges, Ms. Salomi Devkule and Mrs. Vinona Serrao, praised the confidence of the speakers and shared valuable feedback. Students spoke on thought-provoking topics such as The Impact of Technology and Save Water, Save Life. The winners for Std. VIII were Royston Jayakumar (1st), Atharv Bavishkar (2nd), and Malik Tummala and Zeeshan Sayed (3rd – tie). From Std. VII, the winners were Ruel Rodrigues (1st), Joshua Britto (2nd), and Daksh Halwai (3rd).

Simultaneously, the Hindi elocution was conducted in the Conference Hall, compered by Mrs. Anupana Tiwari. The judges for this event were Mrs. Maduri Tripati, a Hindi scholar and poet, and Mr. Prem Baraskar, an alumnus of Don Bosco and an engineering student with a flair for art. Students recited poems and delivered speeches on politics and contemporary society. In Std. VIII, Arnav Redji emerged the winner, followed by Yashraj Patel and Rajveer Padave. In Std. VII, the first place went to Devansh Gurav, the second to Shourya Kumavat, and the third to Savithk Shirke.

Meanwhile, the Art Department conducted an Art Competition for students of Std. VII and VIII. Mrs. Snovia Andrades, the teacher in charge, had given clear instructions beforehand and guided the participants throughout.
