Bosco Kala Utsav 2025: A 3-day Symphony of Young Talent

The much-awaited Bosco Kala Utsav 2025–2026 was celebrated at Don Bosco High School, Matunga, over three vibrant days, bringing together the creativity, intellect, and enthusiasm of students from Standards V to X. Each day highlighted music, elocution, art, and more, giving Boscoites a platform to showcase their gifts, build confidence, and celebrate togetherness.
Day 1: Std. VII & VIII – 19th September 2025
The opening day featured English and Hindi vocals, followed by instrumental performances, judged by Mr. Sagar Kotak and Mr. Lloyd Nunes, who also inspired the audience with their own music. Students sang songs like Footloose and Agar Tum Saath Ho, while tabla, saxophone, and guitar pieces lit up the hall.
The English Elocution, judged by Ms. Salomi Devkule and Mrs. Vinona Serrao, covered themes such as The Impact of Technology and Save Water, Save Life. Simultaneously, the Hindi Elocution was held, judged by Mrs. Maduri Tripati and Mr. Prem Baraskar, where students spoke on society and politics.
The Art Competition, guided by Mrs. Snovia Andrades, saw students immersed in colours, producing creative works.
Day 2: Std. IX & X – 20th September 2025
Day 2 began with the Music Competition, with English vocals, Hindi vocals, and instrumentals, compered by Ms. Perpetual Nazareth and judged by Mr. Myron Gomes and Ms. Rhea Serrao, who charmed the crowd with their duet.
The Debate Competition for Std. X explored the theme AI: A Blessing or a Curse?, judged by Mr. Gurmehar Singh and Ms. Audrey Rodrigues, with engaging speeches and refutations.
The afternoon continued with the Hindi Elocution, judged by Mrs. Varsha Ghodge and Mr. Jay Baraskar, where speeches covered topics like Saving Water and Influence of Social Media.
The English Elocution, organized with the Forum of Free Enterprise and the M. R. Pai Foundation, saw Std. IX and X students speak on Defense Forces, Time Discipline, and The Benefits of Reading Newspapers.
Adding colour, the Display Board Competition showcased creative subject-based boards across classrooms.
Day 3: Std. V & VI – 22nd September 2025
The final day began with the Social Science Exhibition, inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Godfrey D’Souza and Fr. Flovi D’Souza. Std. V presented models on time, history, and the solar system, while Std. VI displayed projects on civilizations, India’s physical divisions, greenhouse gases, transport, and volcanoes.
The cultural session featured English vocals and instrumental music, judged by Mr. Sagar Kotak and Mr. Roney Gomes. This was followed by the English Elocution, judged by Mrs. Matilda and another judge, where participants spoke on themes like Friendship.
Meanwhile, Std. V students participated in the Hindi Elocution on Hasya Kavita, judged by Mr. Ganesh Kamble and Master Saksham Mithilesh, bringing humour and cheer with lighthearted poems.
The Bosco Kala Utsav 2025–2026 was a true celebration of talent, creativity, and expression. Across three days, students from Stds. V–X discovered the joy of music, the power of words, the value of knowledge, and the beauty of art. More than winning prizes, they learnt the importance of confidence, teamwork, participation, and celebrating each other’s gifts – lessons that will remain with them beyond the stage.
