Bosco Kala Utsav 2025–2026 – A Celebration of Talent and Intellect- Std: 9 and 10

Don Bosco High School, Matunga, celebrated its much-awaited annual talent festival, the Bosco Kala Utsav 2025–2026, on Saturday, 20th September 2025. The day-long programme brought together the creativity, intellect, and enthusiasm of students from Standards IX and X through Music, Debate, Elocution, and Display Board Competitions, making it a memorable celebration of youthful energy and excellence.
Music Competition
The celebration began with the Music Competition, gracefully compered by Ms. Perpetual Nazareth. Students mesmerized the audience in three categories – English Vocal, Hindi Vocal, and Instrumental. Judges Mr. Myron Gomes and Ms. Rhea Serrao added a special charm with their duet performance of “Señorita.”
Debate Competition
The Debate Competition, held exclusively for Std. X, explored the thought-provoking theme: “AI – A Blessing that Replaces Human Potential or a Curse that Diminishes Human Value?” Discussions spanned across Smart Homes, Health & Wellness, Education, and Entertainment.
Three engaging rounds – Speeches, Refutation/Panel Debate, and the Open House – kept the audience intellectually stimulated. Anchored by Mrs. Valenka and Ms. Jancy, and judged by alumnus Mr. Gurmehar Singh and Ms. Audrey Rodrigues, the debate concluded with a balanced summation by Mr. Singh, highlighting the strengths of both sides.
Hindi Elocution
The afternoon saw the Hindi Elocution Competition, compered by Mrs. Sarita Chaubey. Judges included Mrs. Varsha Ghodge, recipient of the Lion’s Club Best Teacher Award, and Mr. Jay Baraskar, a proud Bosco alumnus and engineering student.
Speakers from both Standards IX and X impressed with speeches on diverse themes like Saving Water, Corruption, Use of Artificial Intelligence, Inspirational Leaders, Hasi Sabse Badi Dava, Influence of Social Media, and The Importance of Rules and Regulations.

English Elocution
The English Elocution, organized in association with the Forum of Free Enterprise and the M. R. Pai Foundation, featured three themes: Why I Want to Join the Defense Forces, The Importance of Time Discipline, and The Benefits of Reading Newspapers.
Judges Mrs. Deepali Agarwala and Mr. Dhruvil Gada applauded the eloquence and poise of the speakers.

Display Board Competition
Adding colour and creativity to the event was the Display Board Competition, where students of Stds. IX and X prepared subject-based displays that highlighted their artistic skills, teamwork, and presentation abilities. The attractive charts and thoughtful content transformed the classrooms and corridors into vibrant learning spaces.
The Bosco Kala Utsav 2025–2026 successfully showcased the multifaceted talents of the students, from music and speech to debate and art. It was a true celebration of knowledge, creativity, and expression – one that left the judges, teachers, and audience inspired and proud of the young Boscoites
