Assembly: Class: Std. 9C-From Shadows to Sunshine
Class: Std. 9C
Date: 10th September, 2025
Theme: Finding Strength and Hope in Adversity
Occasion: World Suicide Prevention Day
On 10th September 2025, the students of Class 9C conducted a thought-provoking and heartfelt assembly on the theme “From Shadows to Sunshine – Finding Strength and Hope in Adversity” to mark World Suicide Prevention Day.
The assembly began with an inspiring thought, and a short meditation session, led by their class teacher Ms. Barkha, which helped everyone focus and connect deeply with the message of the assembly.
The skit, depicted the story of Rahul, a student crushed by the burden of performance pressure. The play unfolded across multiple scenes – from Rahul’s growing anxiety and suicide attempt to his timely rescue by a friend, the guidance of his teacher, the crucial role of the school counsellor, and finally, the understanding and support of his parents. Each scene sensitively showcased the importance of speaking up, seeking help, and extending compassion.
The skit also included a touching parents’ counselling scene, reminding families that comparisons and unrealistic expectations can damage a child’s well-being. The message was reinforced through a soulful song “Abhi Mujhme Kahin” and an expressive dance performance, symbolizing the journey from darkness to light.
The concluding part of the assembly was powerfully presented by the comperes, who reminded everyone that no matter how dark the shadows may seem, there is always a path towards the sunshine. The final message urged students to reach out, listen without judgment, and never give up hope. The assembly ended on a positive note with the uplifting song “Love You Zindagi”.
Our Principal, Rev. Fr. Flovi D’Souza, then addressed the gathering, appreciating the sincere efforts of the students and teacher in presenting such an impactful theme.
The assembly left a deep impression on everyone present, reminding us that life is precious, challenges can be overcome, and with support and understanding, we can all move together – From Shadows to Sunshine.
