Assembly-7D: From Learning to Living: Highlighting the Importance of Life Skills
On the occasion of World Youth Skills Day, the students of Class 7D, along with their class teacher Ms. Ann Miranda, presented an inspiring and well-coordinated assembly on 15th July 2025 in Fr. Bernard Hall, Don Bosco High School, Matunga.
The program commenced with a warm welcome extended to the school management, setting the tone for the morning’s celebration. A short yet impactful introduction highlighted the growing importance of life skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence, especially within classroom settings.
To help students connect personally with the theme, a guided meditation was conducted, allowing them to reflect on their own life experiences and the value of self-awareness. This was followed by a heartfelt poem recitation that emphasized the journey of growth through continuous skill-building.
The highlight of the assembly was a well-executed skit depicting everyday school scenarios where students demonstrated how essential life skills come into play. Each scene was thoughtfully followed by a student chorus that reinforced the core message, making the concept both relatable and memorable. A vibrant dance performance added rhythm and energy to the program, culminating in a heartfelt vote of thanks.
The assembly concluded with an enriching address by Fr. Orville Coutinho, Administrator of Don Bosco High School, who spoke about turning daily challenges into opportunities for growth. His encouraging words reminded the students that every obstacle is a stepping stone towards becoming more resilient and capable individuals.
This meaningful assembly not only celebrated the significance of World Youth Skills Day but also encouraged students to apply these vital life skills in their daily lives, making education not just informative, but truly transformative.
