"The rain began with a gentle whisper, and soon the laughter of little children became its sweetest melody."
The monsoon brings with it a special kind of magic, especially when seen through the eyes of a child. On 22nd July 2026, the Nursery boys of Don Bosco celebrated the beauty of the rainy season with an exciting day filled with fun, exploration, and learning.
Dressed in colourful raincoats , the children eagerly stepped outdoors to welcome the refreshing rain. Their excitement was contagious as they splashed through puddles, skipped across the playground, and enjoyed every raindrop that fell from the sky. The playground echoed with cheerful laughter as each child experienced the simple joy of playing in the rain.
The children enthusiastically sang their favourite rainy-day songs, including I Hear Thunder, It's Raining, It's Pouring and Put Up Your Umbrella. Their happy voices, combined with the soothing sound of the rainfall, created a truly memorable atmosphere.
As they explored their surroundings, the boys observed how nature came alive during the rain. They noticed sparkling raindrops on leaves, colourful flowers refreshed by the showers, and the pleasant earthy fragrance that follows a rainfall. They were delighted to discover tiny rain creatures such as snails, earthworms, slugs, and insects, making the experience both exciting and educational. Some even stretched out their hands and faces to feel the cool raindrops, enjoying every moment of this wonderful sensory adventure.
The highlight of the morning was dancing freely in the rain. With smiling faces and boundless energy, the children twirled, laughed, and celebrated the season with pure delight, creating memories they will treasure for years to come.
Back in the classroom, the fun continued through meaningful learning experiences. The children learnt about rainwear, rainy-season objects, and creatures commonly seen during the monsoon. They also expressed their creativity by finger painting umbrella cut-outs. The classroom was beautifully decorated with raindrop streamers, fluffy clouds and rain creatures like snail frog etc, creating a vibrant monsoon setting that added to the festive spirit.
The Rainy Day celebration was more than just an opportunity to play—it encouraged curiosity, creativity, observation, and a deeper appreciation of nature. It reminded us that some of childhood's happiest memories are created through simple moments of wonder.
"Every raindrop brought a smile, every puddle sparked an adventure, and every moment became a beautiful memory."
