A Garland of Love for Don Bosco- Statue Decoration Std. I & II

“Do your ordinary duties extraordinarily well.” – Don Bosco
In celebration of Don Bosco’s birthday in August, the statues of Don Bosco and Mother Mary were beautifully adorned with colourful decorations by the teachers and parents of Std. I and II in the Primary Section from 6th August, 2025 to16th August, 2025. The event was a heartfelt tribute to our beloved patron Saint John Bosco, and reflected the creativity, devotion, and enthusiasm of our students, parents and teachers.
The staff and students of Std. II embraced the theme “Our Strong Pillars Hold Us Steadfast in Faith, Hope, and Charity”, symbolizing the strength, stability, and optimism that both faith and education instil in our lives. Their vibrant decorations—featuring bold colours, coinciding with the Indian tricolours and anchor motifs beautifully conveyed the message of resilience and courage in the face of life’s challenges. The display served as a powerful reminder that hope grounds us, uplifts us, and propels us forward, even during the most difficult times. Master Krish Mayekar of Std. II D quipped, “The decorated statues looked very nice with our tricolour articles. We were very happy to see our decorations.”
Meanwhile, the staff and students of Std.1 explored the theme “A Dream That Makes You Dream”, inspired by Don Bosco’s vision for nurturing the dreams of the young. Their vibrant and imaginative decorations brought this theme to life, filled with creativity and wonder. The display beautifully reflected the idea that dreams are more than just personal goals. They have the power to inspire others, ignite imaginations, and create a ripple effect of hope and ambition. Master Benjamin Fernandes of I A said, “I liked all the decorations matched with the colours of the Indian Flag. I also liked the lights around the feet of the statues.”
The students and teachers paid their respect, prayers were said, and a quiet moment was observed in honour of the saint’s life and mission. These young students embody the Salesian wisdom through their thoughtful work, proving that even at a young age, one can express deep respect and love through creativity and dedication. Mrs. Samantha Cardoz, the class teacher of Std. II B exclaimed, “With the combined efforts of parents, teachers and students each class worked together to decorate the statue. It reflected the message of Don Bosco’s true spirit, ideas and teachings.”
The students were truly captivated by the decorations. Their eyes lit up with excitement as they explored the vibrant colours, creative designs, and thoughtful details. The imaginative setup sparked curiosity and joy, making the atmosphere lively and inspiring for everyone.
