A Blessed Day for our Young Pilgrims
A Blessed Day for our Young Pilgrims-By Ms Jancy DharamrajOn 11th December 2025, at 8:00 a.m., the journey began from Don Bosco High School, Matunga, as the Religion boys of Standards 5 and 6, accompanied by Ms. Jancy and Ms. Natasha, set out for their pilgrimage to Mount Mary Basilica and the Pranam Maria Exhibition. At the Basilica, the boys learnt about the Jubilee Year 2025 – Pilgrims of Hope and reflected on the virtues needed to become like the Virgin Mother Mary and courageously say “Yes” to God’s will. In the Word of God stage, a Scripture passage was read, followed by a guided meditation that helped the boys enter into deeper prayer. Upon arrival, the group was warmly welcomed by Mr. Roland, Mr. Datsun, and their dedicated team, who ensured every part of the visit was smooth, organised, and filled with thoughtful care. Their hospitality from arranging early entry and to assisting the teachers and boys at every step made the experience truly memorable. The exhibition itself was spiritually enriching, brought to life through powerful narration, beautiful wording, and captivating light effects that illustrated the life of Jesus in remarkable detail. The boys were especially excited to learn about the Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful, and Glorious Mysteries in such an engaging and visually impactful manner. The journey extended beyond the Resurrection into the Acts of the Apostles, Pentecost, the birth of the Church, the Sacraments, and concluded with an awe-inspiring depiction of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Simple acts of kindness such as helping retrieve a pen that fell into the drain showed the humility and generosity of Mr. Roland and his wonderful team. After a joyful group photograph, the boys left the venue at 2:00 p.m., grateful for a day filled with learning, reflection, and a profound encounter with their faith. We also express our sincere gratitude to our Principal, Fr. Flovi, for granting us permission and giving us the opportunity to have such an enriching experience.
