– Ms. Lakshmi Krishna

A workshop was conducted by Rashtriya Harith Sena (National Green Corps – NGC) for the educators at Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SNGP) on 6th Jan 2017.

The morning session began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The session was then taken up by Mr Jeevan Shewale – one of the officers from Haritsena NGC. He emphasized the need for schools to work towards the environment in different ways and hence be called a ‘green’ school. He presented case studies of schools in rural areas that have achieved a lot towards conserving the environment with limited means. The session was informative and engaging.

The afternoon session was even more interesting as it was a Nature Trail in the park. The weather was perfect for a lovely trail along the Butterfly Garden. It was enjoyable as we watched the butterflies glide from one plant to another.

This educative and fruitful workshop concluded with the second session in the afternoon.
