Together We Can Do Great Things
-Ms. Yugandhara Kaskar

The students of class 8 B with their class teacher presented their class assembly on 15th of January, 2020 in the undercroft of the Don Bosco High School, Matunga. Rev. Fr. Rector Crispino D’Souza, Rev. Fr. Bernard Fernandes, the Principal, Sir CliffRichard D’Souza, the Vice principal, the students of class 8th and 9th with their class and associate teachers were present for the program. The parents of the students class 8B were also there to encourage the students. The assembly staged by the class was based on the theme, ‘Together we can do great things.’
The Assembly began with the national anthem followed by the morning prayer, the pledge and the school anthem. Ms. Yugandhara, the class teacher of class 8B led the assembly into meditation that helped everyone present enter a mood of relaxation.
The students of the class presented a motivating skit which was based on the ‘Chipko Movement’ that had taken place in the year 1730 in the Khejarli village of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The Chipko Movement is a fine example of joining together for a cause -against the bad for what is right. ‘Change might start from one person but together we can do great things’ was the message given. The collective voice of many people together is much more powerful than a single voice.
In this address to the students, Rev. Fr. Rector spoke about the importance of being passionate. He mentioned how important it is to change the world and stand for what is right. Fr. Rector appreciated the boys for their performance. Fr. Principal also addressed the gathering, commending the students of class 8thB and their class teacher Ms. Yugandhara Kaskar for the efforts and hard work in planning and execution of the assembly.
