The month of July struck a chord in our hearts following our decision to celebrate and dedicate 26th July as ‘PARENTS’ DAY ‘. The value education teachers received encouragement from the Principal and the AHM to animate the day’s program through a specially prepared prayer service by the AVEC team. This prayer service was animated by the value education teachers along with a batch of students who volunteered to sing the concluding song ‘You Raise Me Up’.
The day’s celebration was marked with a few activities – thanks in particular to our Art teachers – that included poster making activity with a special message to the parents and the card making activity that made students sentimental as they prepared the cards for their parents. In Std X, the students were encouraged to draft personal letters expressing their love and gratitude to their parents.
In the Catholic tradition, this day celebrated as the feast day of the parents of Mother Mary, is also a day set aside to honour and thank our parents for their immense sacrifice and love in raising their children. We were indeed happy to celebrate this special day and thus remain connected with our parents who add meaning to our lives.
