The State Education Minister lauds the Science Research Team
-Ms. Anita Philip
The NCSC National team was felicitated and complimented by the State Education Minister Mr Vinod Tawde on 9th Jan 2018. The team included our student Master Soham Shastri from Std IX D. At the Nationals in Science research, our school received an A Grade in the citation sheet. Soham was the only boy selected for the final round at the National’s. He missed narrowly the chance to participate at the international level having secured an A grade. Students who secured A+ qualified at the international level.
Below is a brief report of the Mumbai NCSC 17 at the National level held in the last week of December 2017.
There were six projects from six child scientists of six schools that represented Mumbai District in this year’s National Event.
*Neha shaikh. Mookdhwani Vidyalaya, Vile Parle.
*Soham Shastri, Don Bosco High School, Matunga.
* Anuj Yadav, M.K.E.S. High school, Malad,
* Shruti More, Aravind Gandhbhir HS, Jogeshwari.
* Nihil Joshi, V.J.T.I. Matunga.
* Vedant Nair, Udayachal HS, Vikhroli.
All the six students presented their project well and two students, Neha Shaikh and Soham Shastri were selected for the second round presentation. Neha Shaikh from Mookdhwani Vidyalaya through her outstanding performance, confirmed her very prestigious position in top 15 best projects in India. Her guide teacher Mrs. Monica Colaco played a vital role in her success. Not only did she give her guidance in the project, but also assisted in interpreting her sign language to juries during evaluation at all levels of this competition.
Master Soham Shastri too presented his project well but missed out very narrowly on a golden opportunity in representing at the international level.
The grades secured were as follows: Neha A+, Soham A, Shruti B+ , Anuj B, Nihil and Vedant C+.
All the child scientists enjoyed every event and moment of National NCSC and became a part of 25th National Children Science Congress.
A tall and commendable achievement for our school Science research teams and a proud moment for me, their teacher guide Ms. Anita Philip. Many thanks to the parents for their constant guidance and support as also the other professors and consultant guides who accompanied our children in this their venture!
