The Spirit of Children’s Day
-Colleen Azavedo

“The children of today will make the India of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country”
Don Bosco High School Matunga, Primary and Pre-primary section celebrated Children’s Day on 22nd November, 2018. The students were warmly welcomed by Mrs. Sarra Mullick to the hall where the program was hosted. The teachers had a few surprises in store for their children. The Pre-primary teachers sang a few songs which the students enjoyed. The Primary teachers performed a medley on the latest Bollywood numbers. There were also many spot prizes for each class. Our past pupils were very much a part of the day’s organization, and they arranged a Magic show for the students. The magician kept the audience entertained throughout the show. The children were also thrilled to see the juggler juggle with ball, bottles etc.
When the kids returned to class they were excited as their teachers had planned games-housie, bombing the city and the like-for them. The winners were awarded prizes. The students solved puzzles, crosswords and completed the worksheets given to them by filling in the relevant details. As the day progressed, the children also sang, danced and enjoyed themselves. The management arranged for chocolates to be distributed to each and every child, this doubled their happiness.
