Sr Kg stage the first Cultural day
Mrs. Sandra Alphonso
The parents of the boys from the Sr.Kg were present in large numbers in the Bianchi hall to witness their children’s first Cultural day on 5th Dec, 2018. It was a feel of a chilly Christmas morn as they walked past the lobby, the corridors and the staircase leading to the hall. The theme “Christmas with family, friends and neighbours” was emblazoned on the walls revealing our responsibilities towards our family (Holy family)-Save girl child, friends ( shepherds)- help the dislocated during Kerala floods and neighbours (3 wise men)-Aid to Nepal flood. The door was adorned and embellished with Christmas decorations and ornaments giving true feeling of the festive season.
The comperes with their well modulated voices trained over the past weeks took over the show. The boys from each class welcomed the Management and the parents. This was followed by a melodious welcome son by the boys for their parents. The boys then offered a prayer to Baby Jesus in the crib seeking His blessings. The boys enacted the Nativity scene together with the choir singing the carols. Each class put up a skit on Christmas with family, friends and neighbours. These were followed by dances-ballet and polka, and the elves in their colourful costumes got the audience into the mood of Christmas. The Santa’s surprised the Management by presenting them their Christmas stockings. During the course of the program, the Rector Fr. Crispino D’Souza addressed the gathering, and the Principal Fr Bernard Fernandes thanked the staff, Supervisor and the parents that helped in training the children for their first Cultural day.
At the end the boys bid farewell to their parents through a medley of Christmas carols. The event drew to a close with a vote of thanks and the comperes signing off. On his way home little Caden Cardoz surprised his parents by asking whether they enjoyed the programme that he and his friends put up. Indeed they did! “The energy level didn’t drop at any moment” said Rytika Halwai a parent. Everyone went home on a happy note cherishing every moment at the first cultural day of our Kg students.
