Sports Updates – Tennis, Chess, Swimming and Taekwondo

In the month of February, a few of our students returned home with accolades and trophies in the different sports that they participated. Here is a summary of the updates covering the different inter-school tournaments held over the last month:

Tennis:

Master Shivam Kadam of Std 8D who represented India secured the 6th place at the Jain Global Asian U/14 international lawn tennis tournament held at Bangalore. Shivam was also the winner of the boys U/14 and Runners-up in Doubles at the All India Lawn Tennis Ranking Champion held at Practennis, Andheri.

Master Shaan Worlikar of Std 5D, won the first position (U/12 category) and third position (U/14 category) at the ISPL inter-school premier lawn tennis league 2018 held at The Club – Andheri.

Master Ayush Hindlekar of Std 9D secured the first place (U/16 category) at the ISPL inter-school premier lawn tennis league 2018 & The Acres Club inter-school Sports Invitational 2018.

Chess:

Master Samarth Gandhi of Std 9C won the 2nd place at the inter school chess premier league 2018 held at Ajmera i-land Sports Academy.

Swimming:

Master Prayag Jaiswal of Std 8A won 3 silver and one bronze medal (100 metres breast stroke, back stroke and butterfly stroke and bronze in 100 metres free style) at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Olympic Swimming Pool – Dadar.

Master Rugved Kotkar of Std 1-B won 2 gold medal in 25 metres free style and 25 metres breast stroke at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Olympic Swimming pool.

Master Aarnav Wadekar of Std 3-D won 3 gold medals in the different categories.

Taekwondo

Master Mauryansh Mehta of Std 8 won the gold medal at the 2nd Open National Taekwondo Championship 2018 held the Late Rajaram Bhiku Pathare Stadium, Pune.
