Sports-Football:Hat trick of triumphs in the Ahmed Sailor trophy
Cricket: Arnav and Zaid picked to represent Mumbai
-Mr. Barrington Serrao

It has been another week of celebration at Don Bosco Matunga for the sports achievements. Topping the list is the feat of our u-16 football team that completed a hat trick of triumphs at the MSSA organized inter school Ahmed Sailor Trophy tournament. After overcoming the many challenges and defeating some strong teams on the path to the finals, the team bridled the spirited tenacity of St. Joseph’s High School, Malad to clinch the title. In the finals played on 9th Oct 2018 at MSSA grounds, the boys beat St. Joseph’s 2-0 to win the trophy. The members of the Management, Rector Fr. Crispino D’Souza, Principal Fr. Bernard Fernandes and Vice-Principal Fr. Roy Noronha, were all present to cheer and egg on the team towards a well-deserved title. Hearty congratulations to the coach Mr. Leslie Machado, the players and the encouraging parents.
In cricket, there are many of our talented young cricketers knocking on the doors of the state and city selection committees for a place in the team. Not all can make it. Yet two of our cricketers have been provided this golden opportunity to prove themselves at the city and state level. The talented duo of Arnav Deshmukh 10-B and Zaid Patankar 9-D has been selected to represent Mumbai for the U-16 Team against Saurashtra in the Vijay Merchant Trophy tournament to be played from 21st to 23rd Oct 2018. We wish them success in this tourney.
Congratulations to Master Anirudha Kaudhare of std X-D, winner of gold medal at the Inter-District Sqay Martial Arts tournament played at Dharavi Sports complex on 11th Oct 2018. He now qualifies for the State level. Karan Gawane Std 10 F won the silver medal at the same tournament.
