Society’s unsung warriors-Std 6A online class assembly
-Mr. Sham Pawar
The virtual assembly was conducted by Std 6A on 18th August 2020, at 9 am. It was the first time that an online assembly was held in the V-VII section. The topic of the assembly was “UNSUNG WARRIORS OF OUR SOCIETY, WHO SAVE THE FUTURE OF THE COUNTRY DURING THE PANDEMIC.”
The meet began with the school prayer and the national Anthem. Over ten students actively participated in this online meeting. The assembly script praised the contribution made by the doctor, police, nurse and other frontline workers. However the silent work of the teachers was not highlighted by the society.
Through this assembly, the class highlighted the contribution of the teachers at Don Bosco High School, Matunga. Mention was made of the important work done by the teachers, non-teaching staff, the school principal and the management. Special mention was made of the effort of the teachers and their sacrifice in the preparation of online classes defying all odds. This was done through power point presentations and videos.
In his speech, Rev. Fr. Crispino D’Souza our Rector gave a detailed account of the training of the teachers during the summer vacation, and thanked the headmaster and the school management for initiating this process of training for online education. The program concluded with a speech by the Principal, Fr. Bernard Fernandes. He too stressed the immense contribution of the staff during the summer vacation preparing themselves for the task ahead of them in the lockdown period owing to the Covid pandemic situation.
