School Junior Science research team awarded gold medal at the Nationals!
-Mrs. Anita Philip (Research guide teacher)

The 26th National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC) 2018 was held in Bhubaneshwar from 27th Dec to 31st Dec 2018. There were close to 800 child scientists from 29 states and 10 ASEAN countries. Our school Junior Science research team was represented by Master Geoffrey Nadar. This year as per the directives of the of the Dept of Science and Technology, Govt of India, gold medals, trophies and citations were awarded to all the teams that reached the National level in recognition of the hard work they put in to get this far.
And rightly so! Our students from Std 7-Geoffrey Nadar, Kyle Rozario, Malcolm Monseratte, Ness and Elijah Machado and Ness Mandot- worked tirelessly through their Christmas break to upgrade their project for the Nationals. Their topic of research was on awareness and actions taken towards solid waste management for a clean, green and healthy environment. They prepared a new batch of bioplastic film with the assistance of Ph.D. students of ICT and tested its tensile strength and thermal stability.
Besides this, the students made a short video that was uploaded on the social media, and did a live interview on FM Rainbow to sensitize more people about their topic on clean segregation of solid waste.
We congratulate these our promising students for their work and belief in themselves to achieve such high standards. Word of appreciation for their parents who worked alongside their wards and provided the much needed cooperation in such a big venture.
