Republic day -Freedom to Express

The republic day celebration in school was a grand and solemn affair. The theme “Freedom to Express” was well depicted through a well scripted, diligently rehearsed and ably executed assembly by the students of Std 8E under the leadership of their class teacher Mrs. Anupama. The different acts portrayed in their skit, dance and song posed relevant questions in today’s India-democracy and our freedom to express ourselves. Interspersed were a patriotic speech by Master Swayam and a majestic dance performance by our Scouts.

The program began with the hoisting of the flag by our silver jubilarians-Mrs. Christina Mascarenhas, Mrs. Blanche D’Souza, Mr. Joseph and Mr. Ramesh. The guests of honour along with Rector Fr. Crispino D’Souza, Principal Fr. Bernard Fernandes and the Administrator Fr. Roy Noronha, were then escorted to their seats with a solemn guard of honour by our scouts. Many parents and well wishers were present in the assembly to witness the Republic day’s program in the quadrangle. The Scouts staged a dance befitting the occasion, and one that kept the audience enthralled and amazed. The dance was performed by the scouts at the Boscoree at Nashik, and which won them the gold medal. The speech the patriotic song and the presence of our uniformed troupes-NCC, Scouts, RSP and the Cubs-were the striking ceremonial features of the program.

Fr. Rector gave an inspiring speech on the theme of the day, and the Principal concluded with the vote of thanks.
