Republic Day Celebration-Primary Section
Mrs. Ranjana Bhandare
“Be the change you want to see in this world and feel proud to be an Indian.”
India won her freedom on 15th August,1947 and became a Republic on 26th January,1950. The new constitution of free India came into force with effect from this day. It is a day of national rejoicing and a red-letter day in our country. The day is celebrated with pomp and zeal, throughout the length and breadth of the country.
Republic day was celebrated in our school with great eclat. It was a live streaming celebration where the parents and students were able to watch the programme. A few selected primary staff, secondary staff, the Management and a few NCC boys, RSP scouts and the band boys were on the school campus to celebrate this day. The celebration began with a beautiful band which brought in the sense of patriotism in everyone’s hearts and minds. Rev. Fr. Crispino D’Souza was the chief guest of the day, who proudly hoisted our national flag.
Master.Varun Elavia gave an informative speech on the historical importance of the day. A few staff of the secondary and Primary performed a patriotic dance. The Principal, Fr. Bernard Fernandes, thanked the teaching and the non-teaching staff who worked behind the scene to make this day successful. The Primary teachers posted a quiz, an informative PPT and a worksheet on Republic Day in the Google Classroom. The students answered the quiz and turned in the worksheets with excitement.
Master. Aditya Khare of II D commented, “Even though I missed going to school on this special day, I watched the entire program with my parents. Thank you for making this possible.” “I have understood the sacrifice and the hard work laid behind our Indian Constitution. I will follow all the laws of our country India.” quipped Jovin Fernando of III A.
It was a day of rejoicing and merry-making. May we continue celebrating this day forever!
