“Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow. Only through right education can a better order of society be built up.” -Jawaharlal Nehru.
In fond memory of the birth anniversary of our first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru which is on the 14th of November and his immense love for children, the boys of Savio Kindergarten celebrated Children’s Day on 23rd November 2020 virtually after the Diwali Vacation.
Children along with their parents were present for the programme. To create the ambience for the party the boys were asked to dress in their favorite cartoon characters or personalities or also like Chacha Nehru. Wearing lovely party caps made by their parents for them and the room decorated for the children made the child feel happy and special.
The online programme began with a short presentation explaining the meaning and the importance of the celebration of Children’s day. The Jr.KG. Teachers on this auspicious day brought to the attention of parents and children the three rights of children: Right to education, Right to love and Right to food. As young brigadiers they can always try to stop child labor by speaking to their parents if they see a child working on the streets. They were made aware that it’s not only sharing and giving things to others  but also a smile that can make a difference.
The Sr. KG Teachers took the opportunity to convey to the parents a special message namely to love their children whole heartedly, accept them with all their talents as each one of them is unique. More important was not to compare them with any other child, teach them to be independent and as parents to be good role models.
The children enjoyed watching the short cartoon movie-Ugly duckling with the special message to treat all equally. Adding energy to the programme the teachers organized events like dancing, singing and games for the children.
The children- the stars of the show – were  pleasantly surprised  with  blessings and a surprise gift handed over to them by their parents which got them very excited.
The day ended by dancing on the song, “We all gonna dance like a Penguin” which saw the participation of both parents and kids.
Wishing all our children a Happy Children’s day the all God’s blessings!
