Our school bags the Brainfeed School excellence award

-Ms. Christina Mascarenhas

Don Bosco High School Matunga received the Brainfeed school excellence award at Brainfeed’s 5th National Conference & School Excellence Awards 2017-18 held at The Westin Hotel, Koregaon Park, Pune on 11 Nov 2017. Don Bosco High School  Matunga  was selected to receive this award for its contribution towards the cause of quality in education through exemplary performance on several parameters.  The school was commended on being one of the best schools in Academics and Community and Collaborative methods in schools.

At the Conference the speakers touched on several topics. Ms Lila Poonawalla , CEO of the foundation bearing the same name, stressed the importance of value education in school. She wanted Brainfeed to institute an award for the same the next year. Dr. Manjula Pooja, lamented on how our present education system seems to be failing our children.  In other countries of the world, the government education system is so robust that private education is a very small percentage.  It’s the other way around in India. We have to teach what Google can’t teach…. and that is Values.

For all of us at the Conference, besides the pride at representing the school and receiving an award, it was also an informative and enriching experience.
