Oh to be at a museum!
Ms Reena Perumbully
The field trip for Std 5 postponed earlier materialised on 23rd Aug when the students along with their teachers and Supervisor set out for the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, also known as the Prince of Wales museum, at Fort. The students reported in school in all eagerness at 8.30am. The early morning traffic transported the group to the venue earlier than usual. The museum is a historian’s and collector’s delight and it was a beautiful experience for the students and teachers to learn about the new discoveries that has been preserved and safely guarded there. There was knowledge gained of the manner of preserving the wildlife and understanding the nature’s gift to mankind. As they toured the place, the students jotted down points that would aid them in answering the questions on a worksheet provided to them. This would also serve as a formative tool for the teacher teaching the concerned subject.
The students and the teachers returned back late afternoon after having experienced the delights of a museum and the richness of our history and culture.
