Music is magic-Std. I and II
-Ms. Sonia Kasare

“Music is the strongest form of magic.”
Music is indeed magic and the young Boscoites of Std.1 and 2 are true magicians. In the words of Snerna, Music is a language that doesn’t speak in particular. It speaks with emotions”. Pushing through the barriers of the pandemic Don Bosco High School Matunga, has yet again surprised everyone on a different note by organizing a virtual singing competition for the students of Std.1 and 2.
As it is said,”Music Is The Voice Of The Angels.” The students for the love of music gave in their entries and we had over 75 participants from both the standards collectively. The eliminations for Std.1 and 2 were held on 3rd and 4th August, 2020 respectively. After the eliminations 6 participants were selected from each standard. The final round was held on 11th Aug 2020 at 3 pm on Google meet platform. “Music teachers are really sharp,” so goes the saying. Our judges for the competition were Mr. Deepak Fernandes , Mr. Melroy D’Cruz and Mrs.Valenka Fernandes.
Our children exhibited their gift of song with great courage and enthusiasm. Their gentle smile and innocent voices indeed touched our hearts and left us speechless. The judges were mesmerized and shared their valuable views. It was a treat to hear our judges sing. Miss Tejashree presented a power point presentation prepared by Miss. Sonia Kasare to show our gratitude to the judges. Fr. Bernard Fernandes our principal took this occasion to speak to the students for their amazing performance and also thanked our judges for spending their valuable time. Our Head teacher then announced the winners of the competition.
As all things come to an end, this melodious evening also came to a close with great harmony. But it wouldn’t have been possible without the constant guidance and support of our Head teacher Mrs. Griselda Fernandes, the co-ordination and the patience of our teachers and parents, the hard work of our children and moreover the blessings of our Alma Mater St. John Bosco. The evening was a great success. It was a different experience and everybody enjoyed the evening.
“Let us go singing as far as we go, the road will be less tedious”- Virgil
